Because of a previous mishap with cutting the dogs ear were guaranteed that the Manager of this dept is the only expected Dog handler and groomer.
A solid pet store that always has friendly service. But beware, I got snails from their aquatic plants in my fish tank.
As a repeat customer and one that utilizes the Grooming dept once a month, we had 2 Maltese Dogs who were brought to Petco Saturday morning by My wife and 2 Children.
She is not the same and is being seen by higher level VET's currently and trying to figure out if she did or didn't sustain permanent injury.
To our dismay she was not in the foyer but rather in the back room. and As we dropped of the two girls for their bath an assistant lets call her "Sara" picked up both dogs at once and dropped one of them directly onto her head thus knocking her completely out and for 3 mins was unresponsive. Sending my Wife and the 2 children into hysteria, all while the dept conducted business as usual.
I am posting this review so that other Dog owners who care about the well being of their pet while in the care of the on site grooming can heed a warning!!
I loved the people that worked there. There are a few people that are so helpful and nice that it makes it a lot easier for me to go to this store. Sarah and Julia are very nice helpful employees and deserve a raise.
Once they arrived as normal we instruct the groomer as to our expectations (length of cut etc..)
Parking can be tough at times but a well supplied pet store.
We feel the responsibility of this organization should be the safety and the well being of the animals should be first and foremost and they failed at that task.
Our sweetheart Sophie was taken immediately out of their care and was seen shortly after at our local VET and was then sent home under 24 hr observation.
Therefore we are fighting to have the Dog handler responsible for this matter be released of her duties immediately as we are perusing legal steps.
Gets 4 stars for this locations grooming services. Very happy with groomers at this location. 3 stars for rest of the store. Not enough staff available for assistance. Shelves not stocked very well. Restroom is disgusting. This Petco location particularly in need of remodel.
